Special Meeting
Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Advisory Board - May 8, 2012 - Agenda
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library
Scholars of Lincoln, the Civil War, and Illinois history find the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library (ALPL) indispensable—after all, it houses the world’s largest archive of papers and artifacts on Abraham Lincoln and an unparalleled collection on the history of the Prairie State. But you don’t have to be a scholar to use the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. Genealogists find the library’s resources essential to their creation of family histories and genealogies. Students and avocational historians also use the library to study issues of educational and personal interest. A special research library, the ALPL is open to the public, although all materials must be used on site and no library cards are issued.
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is administered by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency.
