General Information about State Surplus Property
MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC
The State Surplus Warehouse is not open on a daily basis to the general public, but auctions to purchase surplus property by bid are open to the general public and items can be found weekly at http://ibid.illinois.gov.
GOVERNMENT AND NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
In Illinois, units of local government such as police, fire, public and private schools, libraries and other nonprofit organizations may apply to become eligible to purchase state surplus property at significantly reduced rates (typically 10%-15% of original cost) by completing a CMS State Surplus Application. Organizations may download our application below or contact the State Surplus Warehouse at (217) 782-7786 for more information, hours of operation and availability of property.

Often called "the eBay® of Illinois," i-Bid is the State's online auction website. The i-Bid web site also allows users to browse and bid for items currently available for surplus sale.
Cities and other local governments in Illinois can use the State's surplus property online auction website to dispose of their unneeded equipment.
i-Bid can help local governments reap the highest bid from thousands of interested bidders around the world, at lower fees than most online auction services.
