Governor’s Clean Water Initiative Helped Draw World’s Largest Water Pump Manufacturer to Illinois

DOWNERS GROVE – As part of his agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward, Governor Pat Quinn today was joined by Grundfos officials to break ground on the global water pump manufacturer’s new North American headquarters in Downers Grove, Illinois. Denmark-based Grundfos, the world’s largest water pump producer, will create 40 new jobs at the headquarters. The Illinois Clean Water Initiative – which was launched by Governor Quinn in 2012 to overhaul the state’s water infrastructure – was cited by the company as a key reason why they chose Illinois.

Partnerships Reflect Joint Commitment to Boost Water Infrastructure, Agriculture and Trade

CHICAGO – Governor Pat Quinn today followed up his international trade mission to Mexico by announcing major steps to build upon Illinois' role as a leading competitor in the global marketplace. Today’s announcement comes as part of Governor Quinn’s agenda to create jobs and drive the Illinois economy forward. Governor Quinn directed several economic agreements that will help pave the way for increased trade and innovation between Illinois and Mexico, a priority for the governor and a goal of the trade mission.

Governor Quinn Signs Sister Lake Pact with Michoacán, Mexico

Partnership to Improve Health of Lake Pátzcuaro and Lake Michigan, Boost Tourism and Protect Habitat

MEXICO CITY – Governor Pat Quinn today signed a Sister Lake agreement between Lake Pátzcuaro and Lake Michigan. This unique connection is part of Governor Quinn’s agenda to drive Illinois’ economy forward and make Illinois one of the most eco-friendly states in the country. The pact pledges cooperation and sharing of best practices to enhance recreational use, boost tourism, improve commercial use and protect natural habitats.

Governor Quinn Works to Increase Illinois Agricultural Exports During Trade Mission to Mexico

Mexico is Illinois’ Third Largest Agricultural Customer

MEXICO CITY – Speaking to an audience of key leaders and decision-makers, Governor Pat Quinn promoted Illinois agricultural exports during his trade mission to Mexico – already one of the state’s biggest agricultural customers. The governor’s trade mission is part of his agenda to drive Illinois’ economy forward and create jobs. Following last night’s event, today the governor will tour Ingredion Inc.’s Mexico City agricultural production facility. Earlier this year Governor Quinn cut the ribbon on the company’s new production facility in Bedford Park, Illinois.

Mexican Travelers Contribute $103 Million Annually to Illinois’ Economy

MEXICO CITY – Governor Pat Quinn tomorrow will meet with travel officials in Mexico City to promote Mexican tourism in Illinois, already a $103 million business. The governor is currently on a trade mission to Mexico, as part of his agenda to drive Illinois’ economy forward and create jobs. The governor will address members of the travel industry at a breakfast in Mexico City to showcase Illinois and Chicago as a visitor destination and advance Mexican awareness of Illinois’ rich cultural heritage.

Governor Quinn to Lead Trade Mission to Mexico

Trip to Focus on Job Creation and Economic Growth Through Agriculture, Water Tech, Manufacturing and Tourism

CHICAGO – Governor Pat Quinn will lead a trade mission to Mexico April 3 - 6 to spur economic opportunities and tourism between Illinois and Mexico. With Illinois already leading the Midwest in exports, the mission will build on the success of Governor Quinn’s agenda to aggressively pursue international trade and create jobs in Illinois. He will be Illinois’ first governor to visit Mexico in 13 years and only the fourth U.S. governor to visit Mexico since 2005.
