Curb Your Car / Bike to Work Week (Sangamon)
:
Every year, the
Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission
teams up with several area organizations, state agencies and businesses to put out a challenge to employers in Sangamon County to encourage employees to leave their cars at home during the designated week. The commute time is a great opportunity to get exercise, save some money and reduce negative impacts on the environment.

(Carbondale)
Carbondale without the “car". Bonedale Bike Week is a five day celebration of the best way to get around CarBondale -- the bicycle. Governor Sheila Simon participated in 2012 with a Bike Rack Ribbon Cutting & Breakfast on May 14th, 2012.
On September 28th, 2012 Chicago held its 15th Anniversary Critical Mass Ride. In the picture above, participants gather at Daley Plaza.
