Urban Biodiversity Week 

Please join us in celebrating Urban Biodiversity Week in Millennium Reserve, May 10 through May 18th! 

This will be our second year of hosting events focused on outdoor activities in the region.  The week will include a series of free events that celebrate urban biodiversity and conservation activities and will culminate with a Nature Block Party on Saturday May 17th event at William Powers State Park and Eggers Woods. 

Events include:

  • Garlic Mustard Pull at Eggers Woods
  • Bird Hikes in multiple locations
  • Flower Festival at Calumet Park
  • Stewardship Work Day at Eggers Woods
  • Mother's Day Nature Walk at Sand Ridge Nature Center
  • Moonlight Nature Hike at Promontory Point
  • Night Hike at Sand Ridge Nature Cetner
  • A Tale of Two Lakes - hike between Lake Calumet and Wolf Lake
  • The Wonder of Salamanders at Sand Ridge Nature Center
  • Sunrise Serenade bike ride around Wolf Lake

The big celebration for the week happens on May 17th with a Nature Block Party at William Powers State Park and Eggers Woods; a fun filled day for the entire family!  Come enjoy fishing, birding, biking, nature hikes and kayaking!
