Kids Warm and Safe Campaign 

This holiday season, please join Governor and the State of Illinois in helping ‘Keep Our Kids Warm and Safe.’ The Governor’s Keep Our Kids Warm and Safe campaign was started in 2003 as an annual statewide clothing and car seat drive. Citizens, businesses, and state employees can donate new or gently used coats, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves and new car seats. As the items are collected, donations are taken to charities in communities around the state. These charities will then distribute the items to needy families in their area.

Since its inception in 2003, the annual campaign has collected over a million items and distributed them to needy families throughout the state.

There are two ways to get involved with this year's Keep Our Kids Warm and Safe Campaign.

Virtual Food Drive

First, citizens can contribute to our virtual food drive, by visiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Donating Warm Winter Items, Car Seats, and Food

Second, citizens can also donate clothing, new car seats and food at state agencies located throughout the state, listed below. Checks or money orders may be made out to Illinois Department of Public Health -- Keep Safe and Warm. Please mail the check or money order to this address:
