IDHR's Chicago office is conveniently located in Chicago's downtown loop at 100 West Randolph Street.
Visitors can access the James R. Thompson Center by elevated train or subway without stepping outside. The Clark / Lake stations located under the James R. Thompson Center provide connections throughout the city and direct trains to O'Hare airport.
Walking? Pedestrians can pick up the center's concourse-level entrance to Chicago's extensive underground tunnel system (Pedway), with connections to major destinations throughout the Loop.
Security Measures at the James R. Thompson Center:
All visitors to the JRTC are required to show a valid government-issued picture I.D. and pass through metal detectors; bags are searched by the Illinois State Police Protective Service Unit (PSU).
There are only TWO public parking lots available near the building which offer 12 Hour discounted parking rates.
Note: Validate your ticket any time before you exit the JRTC at the validation machine located on the 9th floor, one floor below IDHR's 10th floor, in order to receive the discount. Rate includes all parking taxes. Regular rates apply after 12 hours. Rates are subject to change. Space is subject to availability.
