  • Mark Chudzinski, Office of Health Information Technology

The group decided to add the eleventh objective from the general work group to the core public health requirements for interoperability subcommittee objectives. The objectives for this subcommittee are:

  • Perform governmental health data system inventory, including IDPH, HFS, DHS, and other relevant Illinois agencies with data systems relevant to population and public health
  • Identify core public health data elements for interoperability, reporting and research. The initial priority data elements for exchange are ELR, immunizations, and mandated reporting elements.
  • Provide recommendations regarding core public health indicators to be collected, managed and disseminated for the use of population health
  • Monitor and align with national and multi-state standards to ensure interoperability

Topics that were brought up for further discussion include:

  • Working with legacy systems
  • Ensuring HIEs get data we want
  • Immunization outputs into HIE
  • What data elements will be available to Public Health
  • How will Public Health be able to receive data from HIE

Reviewing the minutes from this subcommittee and attending the other subcommittee meetings, it has been recommended to combine this committee with the Public Health Technical Infrastructure Requirements subcommittee, and keep this name.
