Final Report of the Illinois Pension Modernization Task Force

The Illinois Pension Modernization Task Force was created by House Joint Resolution 65 of the 96th General Assembly.

It is charged with recommending changes to modernize state pension benefit systems and report its findings to the General Assembly and the Governor by November 1. Comprised of 19 members, 11 of whom (including the Chairperson) are appointed by Governor Quinn and 8 of whom are appointed by legislative leaders, the Task Force is required to hold at least one hearing a month between June and October of 2009.

The Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability provides staff for the Task Force in conjunction with the Illinois pension systems' actuaries and staff.
