Already one of the greenest residencies amongst state governors, the Illinois Governor's Mansion added nine rescued hens to the mansion. The little composters--a group of Americaunas and Rhode Islande Reds--have taken up residence in a coop on the north side of the grounds. They feed on food scraps from Mansion kitchen and produce eggs for the guests.
