On July 19th the CMS Innovation Center announced a funding opportunity for the State Innovation Models initiative. The initiative will award $275 million in competitve funding for states to design and test multi-payer payment and delivery models that deliver high-quality care and improve health system performance.
The State Innovation Models initiative includes two funding tracks: Model Design and Model Testing. States applying for Model Design will work with stakeholders in the state to build an Innovation Plan. Model Testing applicants will work to implement the states' Innovation Plan by applying innovative testing models that deliver better health, better care, and lower costs.
