Proposed Changes in Methods and Standards for Establishing Medical Assistance Payment Rates for Certain Services

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) proposes to change the methods and standards by which certain services are reimbursed under the Illinois Medical Assistance Program, pursuant to implementation of the Illinois' State Fiscal Year 2011 budget.

Effective for dates of service on or after July 1, 2010, vendors of homemaker services will have their rates increased by $0.91 per hour. Payments to such vendors who provide health care to their employees shall also be increased by $0.15 per hour effective July 1, 2010.

The estimated annual cost of the fiscal year 2011 increases is $18.3 million.

Future rate increases for these services will be the result of negotiated agreements between the State of Illinois and representatives of organized labor.
