Bryan Gleckler | Chief Fiscal Officer

Bryan Gleckler was named chief fiscal officer for the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) June 16, 2010.  In his position, he is responsible for formulating policies and plans, developing and coordinating operations and advising the IDOC director, executive staff and 42 facility managers in areas of fiscal operations and capital budgeting, accounting, procurement, and federal and state grant formulation.  

In addition to his position of chief fiscal officer for IDOC, Gleckler began serving as deputy director of the Public Shared Services Center, effective June 16, 2010. In that position, he is responsible for formulating policies and plans, directing and coordinating budgetary planning and control, financial accounting, fiscal policy and serving as spokesperson and liaison for public safety agencies which include:  IDOC, Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice, Illinois Fire Marshal, Illinois State Police, Illinois Emergency Management Agency and Illinois Prisoner Review Board.

Gleckler completed a graduate program internship with IDOC before joining the department in 2000 as an administrative assistant to the chief financial officer.  From 2002 to 2003, he served in the capacity of purchasing supervisor for IDOC. From 2003 to 2008, he served as executive assistant to the chief financial officer and continued to function as the purchasing supervisor for IDOC through 2009.  He also began serving as acting budget manager in 2007 for IDOC, IDJJ and the PRB. Gleckler was named assistant deputy director for Fiscal Strategic Planning for the Public Safety Shared Services Center within IDOC in 2008. 

He earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 2000 and a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 199
