  1. Lt. Governor

Lt. Gov. Simon to Honor Creal Springs School

 - Lt. Governor Sheila Simon wants to give a southern Illinois school district some special recognition.

Simon plans to issue a proclamation at Tuesday's Mississippi River Coordinating Council meeting marking July 12th as Creal Springs School Day.

The proclamation recognizes the achievements of the Creal Springs students that won the $20,000 grand prize in the Disney Planet Challenge in May. The students spent the last two years working on a variety of conservation projects in the Cache River Wetlands.

The Mississippi River Coordinating Council coordinates initiatives, projects and funding to promote the ecological health of the Mississippi River and its tributaries.
