Investigations are initiated upon receipt of a complaint or other information that sets forth reasonable cause to believe a wrongful act or omission has been committed by State agencies or officials.
The OEIG is authorized to accept and investigate complaints of misconduct made against a State of Illinois official, employee, or vendor who is under the jurisdiction of the Governor, Lt. Governor, or a State university.
