On January 27, 2012, Executive Inspector General (EIG) Ricardo Meza testified before a joint House Human Services and State Government Administration Committee Hearing. EIG Meza’s testimony was related to a joint investigation conducted by the Office of Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) and the Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Children and Family Services. On February 15, 2011, the Illinois Attorney General’s Office (“AG’s Office”) issued a press release concerning the indictment on fraud and official misconduct charges of Margarita Lopez, an Illinois Department of Human Services caseworker.  The Office of Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor assisted the AG’s Office on the investigation involving Ms. Lopez.

On February 14, 2011, the Office of Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor was granted authority to act as Executive Inspector General for the Regional Transportation Authority, the Chicago Transit Authority, Metra and Pace, effective July 1, 2011.
