• About SECA

  The once-a-year (September 7 – November 2, 2012) State and University Employees Combined Appeal (SECA) that provides all employees the opportunity to donate to the charitable causes of their choice to enhance the quality of life for all.

  Established in 1983, SECA is a workplace giving campaign that allows State Employees to donate to nearly 2,000 charities at local, state, national, and international levels. State employees have contributed more than &67 million to help improve our environment.

• Charity Search

  The Federation of Charities represents 11 different charitable agencies: Community Health Charities, American Cancer Society, America’s Charities, Black United Fund of Illinois, Community Shares of Illinois, EarthShare, Global Impact, Independent Charities of America, Special Olympics, United Negro College Fund and United Way.

  With the help of the Charity Search Engine you will find a concise listing by County of the all of the different charities served through your donations to SECA, along with a brief description of the services provided by these individual agencies.

• Solutions for a Better Tomorrow

  The 2012 SECA Pledge Book will give you all the information you will need to be a part of the “solutions for a better tomorrow”, our theme for this year’s SECA giving campaign.

  Inside this book you will get an in-depth view of each of the 11 charities, their visions, their missions and a glimpse into the lives of those who are served through your contributions. Many of the charities also include a breakdown of services or things that your donations, no matter how small they may seem to you, are being used for in order to improve individual lives, communities, and on a global level, our world at large.

• Pledge Form

  After you have made your choice of which charity(ies) you want to donate to you will want to fill out a pledge form and send that completed pledge form to your agency contact, also known as the SECA Agency Ambassador.

  • You can access your pledge form by selecting the Pledge Form button on the navigation bar above.
  • Print out and complete the form and forward to your SECA Agency Ambassador.
  • Locate the complete list of SECA Agency Ambassadors by selecting the Contact Agency Ambassador button on the navigation bar above.

• Leadership Giving Circle

  The Leadership Giving Circle recognizes individuals contributing $250 or more to one or more charities in the Illinois State and University Employees Combined Appeal (SECA).

  Individuals giving at the Leadership level serve as strong examples to others and share the desire to help meet critical needs in their community.

  Leadership Giving Circles

  • Bronze - Membership is achieved by an annual gift of $250 to $499
  • Silver - Membership is achieved by an annual gift of $500 to $999
  • Gold - Membership is achieved by an annual gift over $1,000
