Ilya is the Campaign Director at MoveOn.org Civic Action, a national advocacy organization with over 7 million members, where he works to provide individuals with the tools and training they need to become effective advocates for their causes. Previously, Ilya served as the National Mobilization Director at MoveOn.org, where he mobilized the organization’s members in the campaign for national health care reform.
A community organizer at heart, Ilya has worked extensively with local organizations working to improve their communities. He coordinates and leads Job Training Workshops for individuals exiting the criminal justice system in Waukegan Township and is a board member of Chicago Votes, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to engaging Chicagoland-area millennials in the political process.
Ilya got his start working as an organizer for the education advocacy group A+ Illinois, building coalitions to improve the quality and funding of public schools in Chicago’s northern suburbs, including Buffalo Grove where he spent much of his childhood.
A graduate of McGill University with a BA in History and Political Science, Ilya currently lives in Waukegan, IL.
