Dr. Joseph Rives is the Vice President for Quad Cities and Planning at Western Illinois University. Dr. Rives oversees the Quad Cities campus that is located in Moline, Illinois as well as University planning for both campuses of Western Illinois University. Dr. Rives joined Western's administration in 2005 after serving at Illinois State University since 1990.
Dr. Rives is the University's point of contact for Quad Cities economic development issues. He provides leadership for University-wide planning, and is responsible for institutional accreditation for the Higher Learning Commission-North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. He works with Illinois and Iowa community colleges to institute collaborative educational paths, and currently is the Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Council of Member Institutions for the Quad-Cities Graduate Study Center. Most recently, he was selected to chair Renew Moline's Project Management Team. He holds a bachelors degree from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a masters and doctorate degree from Illinois State University.
