Administrative Order 5 (2003)

June 17, 2003

POLICY IN REGARDS TO PENSION CONTRIBUTIONS OF NON-BARGAINING EMPLOYEES

State agencies in the past have contributed to non-bargaining employees retirement by paying either 4 percent or 5-1/2 percent of the employees’ gross wages to State Employees’ Retirement Systems. The financial crisis facing the State of Illinois mandates the suspension of this practice. Due to these budgetary constraints, the State agencies will not pickup the pension contributions of either 4 or 5-1/2 percent for their non-bargaining employees.
