Student Loan Default Prevention/Debt Management
ISAC was previously a loan guarantor under the Federal Family Education Loan Program, a program that ended in 2010. ISAC continues to work with those who borrowed under the program.
College Access and Financial Aid: workshops and one-on-one assistance
ISAC provides students and families with free assistance from experts on the college-going and financial aid process. ISAC can provide you with the information you need to identify and choose a college that is right for you, help you fill out your college applications, and guide you through the financial aid process so you can get all the financial aid for which you are eligible. ISAC offers free workshops across the state, as well as free one-on one mentoring in locations near you!
College Illinois! 529 Prepaid Tuition Application
The state's only prepaid tuition plan, College Illinois! offers families a unique way to plan for college costs, by prepaying for college tuition at today's plan rates. So no matter how high tuition rates climb by the time your student is ready to attend college, tuition and mandatory fees will be covered for the schools in their plan. As a 529 plan, College Illinois! offers great tax advantages, and the value of plan benefits can be used at most public and private colleges across the country.
Financial Aid: Grants and Scholarships
ISAC manages and administers numerous college financial aid and scholarship, and repayment programs on behalf of the state, including the Monetary Award Program (MAP), the largest grant program for low-income college students in the state.
