IDPH licenses Pregnancy Termination Facilities - Procedures performed at the facility are limited to procedures to terminate pregnancy performed within 18 weeks assessed gestational age (beginning on the first day of the last menstrual period), and other gynecologic procedures related to the termination of pregnancy. Assessed gestational age may be determined by patient history or by clinical assessment.

New and existing public water supplies which intend to construct new water supply facilities, modify existing treatment facilities or equipment, or extend water mains are required to obtain a construction permit from the Division of Public Water Supplies. Public water suppliers are also required to obtain an operating permit before putting newly constructed equipment, facilities or mains into operation.

rrigation contractors install or supervise the installation of lawn sprinkler systems. Each irrigation contractor in the state of Illinois must register annually with IDPH by completing the “Irrigation Contractors: Application for Registration” form. Additionally, employers must register all employees who install or supervise installation of lawn sprinkler systems, as well as inform IDPH when employment is cancelled via the “Irrigation Contractors: Notice of Cancellation of Employment” form.

An individual who has successfully completed a nursing program equivalent to a LPN or RN in a foreign country and who has moved to the United States but has not taken a licensure exam cannot work as a nurse. The individual cannot work as an Illinois CNA until the registry shows that the individual has met the training requirements.

For the purpose of protecting deaf and hard of hearing citizens, the Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection Act (225 ILCS 50 see LAWS & RULES in the right-hand column) regulates the sale of hearing aids in Illinois. This law makes IDPH responsible for assessing the competency skills, by examination, of potential hearing instrument dispensers, the licensing of dispensers, responding to consumer complaints/inquiries and assuring dispenser continuing education upon license renewal.
