Member and Dependent Rates
Each plan year (July 1 through June 30) the health, dental and life coverage rates may change.

Full-time employees can do their own plan comparisons by logging on to
MyBenefits.illinois.gov. There you can compare different health plans, dental options, optional life coverage and/or number of dependents.
Non-IRS Domestic Partner, Civil Union Partner and Children of a Civil Union Partner
Members whose coverage includes a non-IRS domestic partner, civil union partner or child of a civil union partner will be assessed imputed income associated with those dependents. The premiums for these non-IRS dependents are
IN ADDITION TO any other health premium the member is currently paying for their IRS dependents.
Members whose coverage under the plan has been terminated are responsible for 102% of the cost of the coverage.
Retiree, Annuitant and Survivor Rates
Contributions are required for individuals who have less than 20 years of service. Specifically, the State will contribute 5 percent of the cost of coverage toward an individual’s health plan election for every eligible year of service worked up to a 100 percent contribution. Retirees, annuitants and survivors who have less than 20 years of service are required to pay 5 percent of the cost of coverage for each year of service less than 20 years upon which their annuity is based (for more information on the criteria used to determine who is responsible for the 5 percent per year contribution, see page 19 of the
Retiree, Annuitant and Survivor Benefits Handbook). Retirees, annuitants and survivors with 20 or more years of creditable service receive premium-free coverage.
