    Advancing the Development of Minority Entrepreneurship (ADME) Business Workshop

    Are you a new business owner? Interested in becoming an entrepreneur in 2019? Are you looking for financing opportunities to meet your present needs and prepare you for future growth? If so, you are invited to join the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for an ADME Business Workshop. This introductory workshop will address the needs of individuals with less business experience. The program is supported by public and private stakeholders alike, namely: Local area Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development Organizations and Corporations, Advisement/Mentor Groups, Non- Profit Organizations, Community Development Financial Institutions & Lenders, Illinois Small Business Development Centers Network, Office of Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology and Office of Minority Economic Empowerment, within the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Information will also be provided on the Advantage Illinois Participation Loan Program and FAME (Fund for the Advancement of Minority Enterprises). Register today to take advantage of this free event (limited seating). Refreshments will be served.

    Are you looking for resources to prepare you for future growth? Are you looking for financing opportunities
    to meet your present business needs? If so, the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, along with the Small Business Development Center and CMS Business Enterprise Program invite you to join us at the ADME Business Workshop. During the workshop, subject-matter experts will address the needs of business owners, those looking for resources for their business and those looking to do business with the State of Illinois. Information will also be provided on the Advantage Illinois Participation Loan Program and FAME (Fund for the Advancement of Minority Enterprises). The State participates 50% on loans with lenders enrolled in the program, offering a 2% fixed rate and up to $400,000 on the State's portion. This is a free event but registration is requested. Refreshments will be provided.

    Please join Metra as we recognize and honor prime and subcontractors, for providing exceptional service and continuously promoting diversity and inclusion amongst our agencies and staff members. This event will offer small businesses access to prime contractors, government agencies and the opportunity to attend a free educational workshop to learn more about the CREATE P2 engineering project.

    Business Enterprise Program (BEP) & Veteran Business Program (VBP) Certification Workshop

    In partnership with the ChicagoMBDA Center Operated by ChicagoMSDC- the State of Ilinois Central Managment Services' (CMS) Business Enterprise Program (BEP) & Veteran Business Program (VBP) workshops are designed to provide information on the certification process. The State of Illinois provides the following certifications: • Women Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) • Minority Owned Business Enterprise (MBE) • Person with Disability Owned Business Enterprise (PBE) The VBP provides certification to Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses. CMS/BEP also has a streamlined recognition process with other MBE & WBE certifying entities.
    A representative from the Illinois Department of Human Services will be there to speak about projected procurement opportunities within their department.
