Fast Track Public Infrastructure Program
On Tuesday, May 12th Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) announced Fast-Track Public Infrastructure Grants, an initiative to accelerate work on planned public infrastructure projects around the state. The State is expediting $25 million of existing Rebuild Illinois funding to local public infrastructure projects that are ready to begin work this summer, as many local governments face lost revenues, impacting their ability to finance these projects. Informational webinars for the Fast Track Public Infrastructure program will be available on two dates: Friday, May 15th at 10:00 a.m. and Tuesday, May 19th at 12:30 p.m.
Wendy Bell, Deputy Director for the Office of Community Development and Jason Horwitz, head of DCEO’s Policy Development, Planning, & Research bureau will cover details of the program. This will include eligibility and how to apply, uses of grant funds, the evaluation and scoring process, and pre and post grant compliance requirements. Bell and Horwitz will be assisted by DCEO’s Regional Economic Development (RED) Team.
