FABTECH Mexico l Monterrey, Mexico l May 3 – 5, 2022
Fabtech-AWS Weldmex – Metalform – CoaTech is the largest manufacturing event in Mexico. It is geared towards companies working in welding, metal-mechanic, manufacturing, assembly, automation, industrial machinery, equipment and tools. In 2019, 575 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and over 13,000 visitors attended, primarily from Mexico and South America. The growth of advanced manufacturing in Mexico, together with increased interest in product quality and productivity, are generating demand for diverse industrial materials, systems, machinery, equipment, tools, and services. Mexico is the second largest international trading partner of Illinois. Illinois exports to Mexico totaled $9.3 billion in 2019. Expo Pack Mexico l Mexico City, Mexico l June 14 – 17, 2022

Florida International Medical Equipment Show I Miami, Florida I July 27 – 29, 2022
FIME is the most important trade show for the medical device and equipment sector for the Americas. This event will have over 500 exhibiting companies and more than 10,000 attendees. Featured products will include medical equipment and devices, disposables and consumer goods, imaging and diagnostics, healthcare and general services, pharma and supplements, IT systems and solutions, and dental. This is the ideal venue to connect with distributors throughout Latin America and the Caribbean region.

West Africa Multisector l Nigeria & Ghana l TBD
OTI be leading a multisector trade mission to two key markets in West Africa, Nigeria and Ghana in May 2022. Nigeria is the largest economy in Africa and 26th largest in the world. It is also the most populated country on the continent with over 200 million people and a vibrant and growing middle class with an appetite for US goods and services across all sectors of the economy. To continue spurring this growth, Nigeria is liberalizing its economy, promoting public-private partnerships, and encouraging strategic alliances in critical sectors of its economy. Nigeria is the key driver of international trade in the region and the gateway to 16 other countries in the region. Ghana has one of the fastest growing economies in the world with relatively diverse and abundant natural resources. There are myriad opportunities in various sectors including agriculture, construction, infrastructure, education training, mining, oil and gas equipment, cosmetic, rail, energy, healthcare, automotive and franchising. Both countries are politically stable democracies. Japan & Korea Multisector l Tokyo, Japan & Seoul, South Korea l TBD
Over the course of seven days, mission participants will attend group and customized one-on-one meetings with potential business partners. A successful trade mission lays the foundation for the identification and development of a platform for increased exports. Japan's aging population shapes demand and opportunities in various segments: medical devices and equipment, pharmaceuticals, healthcare facilities and infrastructure, including in-home care, biotechnology, healthcare information technology, safety-related products and services, robotics, leisure and travel, educational services, home delivery services, and financial services. Also: equipment related to global warming, industrial machines, cybersecurity, defense procurement and renewable energy. In South Korea, technology-intensive industries drive future growth. The industries targeted by the Korean government include: healthcare (medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology), industrial chemicals, information technology (IT) components, semi-conductor manufacturing, aerospace and defense, energy, environmental technology, and transportation (including reviving the shipbuilding industry).

Mexico Virtual Trade Mission l Virtual l November 2021
Mexico's $1.3 trillion economy is the 15th largest in the world and the second largest in Latin America. Additional reasons to consider exporting to this country are that with $9.3 billion in exports in 2019,  Mexico is Illinois' second largest export market. Mexico is the main door to the Latin America and the Caribbean market for U.S. exporters. The United States has a Free Trade Agreement with Mexico (the USMCA) that facilitates doing business in this country, and makes it a natural market for first-time or expanding exporters. Participants will receive promotion to companies within their sector and pre-arranged B2B meetings.

Export to China Week: Multisector Virtual B2B Matchmaking l Virtual l November 8 – 12, 2021
The Illinois Office of Trade and Investment (OTI) is hosting a weeklong virtual program in November to help Illinois companies grow their exports to China. Participating companies will meet virtually with pre-vetted distributors and agents across all industry sectors.  As Illinois exporters seek alternatives to trade shows, OTI strives to offer opportunities for export growth despite the challenges of the global pandemic. Last year alone, Illinois exported $3 Billion to China, its third largest export market.

Colombia Virtual Trade Mission l Virtual l November 9 – 11, 2021
Colombia is becoming one of Latin America's most attractive destinations for international exporters and investors. With the fourth largest economy in Latin America, Colombia has seen significant security improvements and steady economic growth in recent years. Illinois exports to Colombia totaled $520 million in 2018, a 91.6% increase since 2009. Colombia is Illinois' 22nd largest export market and the Colombian economy has a rapidly growing base of middle-class consumers as well as diversifying industries. The United States has a Free Trade Agreement with Colombia that bolsters the exchange of merchandise.
