Fort Massac

​Accessibility at Fort Massac:


  • Parking - The park has asphalt parking lots with accessible parking spaces. There is an approximate distance of 3' to the nearest concrete sidewalk. There is a concrete wheelchair ramp into the park office. 

  • Trails - The George Rogers Clark Discovery Trail is an approximately 4.2 miles long within the park. Approximately 2 miles of the that trail is flat concrete, and the other portion is contained with the roadways and sidewalks which are asphalt and concrete surfaces, some of which are steep hills.

  • Restrooms - There are accessible vault toilets available at the Fairgrounds Shelter, River View Shelter and the Visitor Center parking lot.  There are flush toilets in the campground shower house. 

  • Camping - There are two accessible campsites in the Class A campground with wheelchair accessible picnic tables and grills.

  • Picnicking - The Fairgrounds and the 1912 Shelter have wheelchair accessible picnic tables and grills.  

  • Service animals are welcome in the park and water fountains are available. Park can draw large crowds. 

  • Visitor Center - The parking lot is asphalt with two accessible parking spaces. There is an incline coming from the parking lot to the sidewalk that meets ADA standards. Accessible flush restrooms and water fountains are available. There are benches inside and outside to sit. Displays do not have braille or audio.
