Starved Rock Saplings Story Time, Nature's Yucky
Date(s):

Description:
Yuck, that's gross!! Sometimes nature can be yucky, but it can be cool too. Find out how owls form pellets, turkey vultures cool down in the heat, baby birds are fed, and other fun animal facts. Naturalists will guide children through a fun storybook into an educational program on the yucky part of nature then on to an activity where they can dissect an owl pellet (they are sterilized ahead of time and safety precautions such as glasses, gloves, and masks will be worn) and make scat look-alikes out of candy!
The program is suitable for children ages 3 to 10. Parents or guardians must chaperone their children at all times.
The program is free but donations to the Starved Rock Foundation that funds such programs is more than welcome.
