Location: 2.5 miles south of Oquawka, IL

Description: 2,462 total acres in size. 913 acre refuge located on northern half of site. Active habitat management will be occurring throughout the year on the site.

SITE REGULATIONS – GENERAL

  1. All hunters are required to obtain a Free “Site Windshield Card” online at the IDNR website; https://dnr2.illinois.gov/windshieldcard/ This card must be visible through the vehicle windshield and the pocket portion in your possession while hunting.

  2. All statewide regulations apply, unless there are more restrictive site-specific regulations.

  3. Walk-in hunting only. Access from hunter parking lot located at the south end of the site.

  4. Hunting parties must remain a minimum of 200 yards apart.

  5. Hunters under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult (18 years or older).

SITE REGULATIONS – WATERFOWL

  1. Waterfowl hunters are required to hunt over a minimum of 12 decoys.

  2. Only non-toxic shot can be used. No other shotgun shells loaded with lead shot may be in possession.

SITE REGULATIONS – ARCHERY DEER

  1. It is unlawful to construct or use any tree stand that utilizes nails, screws, wire, or any device that pierces or cuts the bark of the tree on which it is installed. Any tree stand must be portable and must be removed from the tree at the end of the day's hunt.
