Ray Norbut - East Hannibal Unit

2022-2023 Season

Map
INTRODUCTION: The Hannibal Unit of Ray Norbut Fish & Wildlife Area is a small tract that was acquired from the Illinois Department of Transportation as a result of the construction of a new bridge over the Mississippi River.  The land cover consists of recent tree plantings and established woodlands.  A series of ditches and natural sloughs are also present on the property.  The size of the parcel and proximity to roadways restricts the site to archery hunting and trapping programs only. Active habitat management will be occurring throughout the year on the site.

LOCATION: The East Hannibal Unit is located in the Mississippi River bottoms on the north side of Interstate 72.  The tract lies in close proximity to other public hunting areas located adjacent to Mississippi River Pool 22.
