LOCATION: The Sangamon County State Conservation Area is located 3 miles northeast of Salisbury in Sangamon County.
DESCRIPTION: Total Acres: 178 Huntable Acres: 178 Timbered Acres: 178
The Sangamon County State Conservation Area is characterized by steeply rolling hills and hollows. The majority of the timbered area is comprised of oak and hickory with interspersed softwoods.

* Deer (firearm and Youth firearm; does not apply to archery or muzzleloader deer hunting) hunters must obtain a windshield permit to hunt Sangamon County State Conservation Area. These are available online at https://dnr2.illinois.gov/windshield card/. Hunters will be required to return to this website prior to February 15th each year to record harvest information. Failure to submit data for two consecutive years will result in loss of hunting privileges for the following year.
