Location: Knox County one mile east of Victoria on
Illinois Route 167. Total Acres: 241.
This site features grassland and agricultural fields, primarily managed for upland game hunting. Active habitat management will be occurring throughout the year on the site.

Site Regulations - General:
- Severe weather and safety conditions can result in closing all or
part of the area.
- Hunters under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible
adult.
- All hunting must be with shotgun or bow and arrow
Pheasant, Rabbit, & Quail Hunting:
- Upland game
hunting is by permit only. A Free Upland Game Hunt Application must be used to
apply for these hunts. Application dates will be publicly announced.

or online at www2.illinois.gov/dnr/hunting/Pages/UplandGame.aspx
- Upland hunting is permitted on the first and second day of the
statewide upland game season and on each subsequent Wednesday and Saturday in
November, and on each Thursday and Sunday in December through December 24th.
- Only one upland hunting party, consisting of the permit holder and
no more than five (5) hunting partners will be allowed each day.
- Upland game hunters must wear a cap and upper outer garment of
solid blaze orange (at least 400 square inches).
- Non-toxic shot only.
Dove, Teal, Snipe & Rail Hunting:
- Dove, Teal, Snipe, and Rail hunting is handled through Snakeden
Hollow State Fish and Wildlife Area. A drawing will be held at 11:00
a.m. if more hunters show up than can be accommodated.
- Dove and Teal harvest must be reported at Snakeden Hollow SFWA.
- Snipe, Rail, and Teal hunters must obtain a windshield card online
from dnr2.illinois.gov/Windshieldcard. This windshield card must be displayed
in your windshield and the pocket card portion in your possession while
trapping at the site. Hunters must report their annual harvest online (even if
you did not hunt) by February 15th. Hunters shall forfeit their hunting
privileges at the site for the following year if they fail to report by the
prescribed deadline.
- Non-toxic shot only.
Trapping:
- Trapping season starts at sunrise on December 26th.
- A drawing to allocate annual trapping rights will be held at
the Snakeden Hollow SFWA office on opening day of goose season at 10 am.
- Only Egg traps, DP (Dog Proof) traps, box traps, cage traps,
and traps of similar design may be used for land sets. Body gripping
traps must have a jaw spread of 10" or less and be completely submerged
underwater.
- Trappers must obtain a windshield card online from dnr2.illinois.gov/Windshieldcard/. This
windshield card must be displayed in your windshield and the pocket card
portion in your possession while trapping at the site. Trappers must report
their annual harvest online (even if you did not trap) by February 15th.
Trappers shall forfeit their trapping privileges at the site for the following
