Bridge Work Closes IL 102 at Kankakee River SP
OTTAWA, IL – The Illinois Dept. of Transportation announces that IL Route 102 approximately 6.5 miles northwest of Bourbonnais (at Kankakee River State Park) will be closed beginning March 1.   The closure is to allow for removal and reconstruction of the bridge carrying IL 102 over Rock Creek.  A $2,120,403.89 contract has been awarded to D Construction, Inc. of Coal City, IL for this work.

IL 102 will be closed to thru traffic beginning at Warner Bridge Road (County Highway 20) extending east to US Route 45/52.  The posted detour will utilize US Route 45/52, IL Route 17, IL Route 113, and Warner Bridge Road.  The project is located in the middle of Kankakee River State Park.  The main entrance to the park can be accessed from the east, from Bourbonnais, but other western access points to the park may be entered from the west.

Completion of the work and reopening of IL Route 102 is anticipated for September 2016.  IDOT reminds motorists to please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.
