Volunteer Lake Monitoring
This Illinois program is one of the oldest volunteer lake monitoring programs in the country. In the basic monitoring program, citizens are trained to measure water clarity of a lake in which they have an interest.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (DNR) offers many volunteer opportunities to help with projects within EcoWatch, such as RiverWatch, ForestWatch, PrairieWatch, and UrbanWatch.
