Participant eligibility information can be obtained by calling 1-800-842-1461. This number will be answered by the Automated Voice Response System (AVRS). To check eligibility on AVRS, providers will need the
9-, 10-, or 12-digit Medicaid provider number
9-digit Recipient Identification Number (RIN)
Date for which eligibility information is being sought
The AVRS will provide all information relating to a participant's eligibility and will permit up to 6 eligibility inquiries during each telephone call.
If the provider has a question that cannot be answered by AVRS or needs the participant's RIN, the provider can select the option of speaking to a person. The call will be transferred to the next available Provider Eligibility Inquiry Hotline representative. Hotline representatives are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. each work day.
