Re: HealthChoice Illinois ADT Mandatory Hospital Participation Reminder
This notice reminds hospitals of their obligation to participate in HFS’ statewide technology platform, HealthChoice Illinois ADT.
The functionality of this technology platform supports Illinois’ 2021-24 Comprehensive Medical Programs Quality Strategy and aligns with the CMS Interoperability and Patient Access Final Rule requirements that hospitals send electronic notifications of admissions, discharges and transfers to a patient’s care team.
All hospitals that are enrolled in the IMPACT system to serve Medicaid customers will be required to transmit electronic notifications of admissions, discharges, and transfers for Medicaid customers in an HL7 format to the HealthChoice Illinois ADT platform by September 30, 2021.
Hospitals that are not in compliance with this requirement will be subject to enforcement action and may be ineligible to participate in other programs administered by the Department.
Funding is available to all hospitals to offset eligible costs for setting up the electronic data connection to the HFS technology platform.
If your hospital has not already submitted the required documents to secure your place on the onboarding schedule, please submit those documents or contact us immediately at HFS.HealthChoiceIllinoisADT@illinois.gov.
Questions regarding your compliance with this requirement should be directed to: HFS.HealthChoiceIllinoisADT@illinois.gov.
