Re: FY 2022 ARPA Funding to Nursing Facilities – Revised Submission Timelines and Q&A Posting

On August 31, 2021, the Department issued a Provider Notice informing nursing facilities of the requirements to access and spend the $75 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding appropriated by the General Assembly in the FY 22 Budget Implementation Act (BIMP; see 305 ILCS 5/5-5.7a(8)).
Included in the notice were requirements that nursing facilities spend the July distribution by September 30, 2021. In addition, signed subaward agreements and budget templates were required to be submitted by September 30, 2021.
The Department is relaxing the timeframes for both requirements.
- The July monthly distribution is now required to be spent by October 31, 2021. Please submit any July distribution spending for the month of October in the budget template column titled, "Cost to be incurred in Sep-21." The Department will modify the header to include Oct-21 upon submittal.
- The subaward agreements and budget templates are required to be submitted by October 15, 2021.
