Re: Rate Increases Effective July 1, 2022, per Public Act 102-0699

Pursuant to PA 102-0699 the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) is increasing rates for Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities (SMHRFs) effective July 1, 2022.
Rates for July 1, 2022, will be five percent (5%) higher than the rates in effect on June 30, 2022. In addition, the $10 per day add-on for single occupancy rooms billed with revenue code 0110 will be increased to $15 per day. Finally, a new add-on for double occupancy rooms billed with revenue code 0120 will be established at $10 per day. The add-on amounts will not be applied to leave of absence days.
Implementation of the rate increases for fee for service (FFS) claims will be staggered and will apply to all services provided on and after July 1, 2022.
- The five percent (5%) rate increase and the increase to the single occupancy room add-on will be implemented immediately without a need to make any system adjustments or reprice claims.
- The new add-on for double occupancy rooms is currently being programmed in the pricing system. Upon completion of the programming, providers will be notified, and claims will be adjusted systematically.
The above information has been shared with the managed care organization (MCO) plans for incorporation into their claims processing systems. Updated rates will be sent to the MCO plans that account for the five percent (5%) rate increase.
