Re: Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) Rate Increases Effective July 1, 2022, per Public Act 102-0699

This notice confirms the rate increases effective July 1, 2022, for substance use treatment services pursuant to Public Act 102-0699. These increases impact Medicaid fee-for-service (FFS) claims as well as HealthChoice Illinois (HCI) managed care organization (MCO) plan claims.
The Public Act requires an increase to existing rates of 47% for all community-based substance use disorder treatment services, including, but not limited to, all of the following:
- Admission and Discharge Assessment
- Level 1 (Individual)
- Level 1 (Group)
- Level 2 (Individual)
- Level 2 (Group)
- Psychiatric/Diagnostic
- Medication Monitoring (Individual)
- Methadone as an Adjunct to Treatment
The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has approved the Department of Healthcare and Family Services' State Plan amendment to implement these requirements of the Act. A SUPR Fee Schedule has been posted to the Department's website.
