Re: Confirmation of Home Health Coverage Effective January 1, 2024, per Public Act 102-0816

This notice confirms the Department of Healthcare and Family Services' (HFS) coverage of home health services pursuant to Public Act 102-0816.
The Act states that a group or individual policy of accident and health insurance or a managed care plan that is amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2024, shall provide coverage for access to home health services for the duration of medically necessary care. As HFS already provides medically necessary home health care under the fee-for-service (FFS) program and managed care plans, no coverage changes are necessary.
