IDOC Visitation Rules and Information—please review before visiting

The Illinois Department of Corrections is implementing a multi-phase plan to resume in-person visits as safely as possible. The number of visitors per two-hour time slot are limited to ensure social distancing measures are closely followed. Phase two, which takes effect June 2021, loosens restrictions for visitors and incarcerated people who are fully vaccinated. At this time, each incarcerated person is permitted three visits per month. To visit Hill Correctional Center, you must sign up at least seven days in advance.

Effective May 24, 2021, in-person visiting hours will be as follows:

8:30am - 10:30am
11:00am - 1:00pm
1:30pm - 3:30pm
4:30pm - 6:30pm

Video Visitation Hours

Sunday through Saturday 8:30am – 2:30pm; 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Visitors should log on to the GTL 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

Facility Information

Hill Correctional Center, located in Galesburg, a north central community, is a medium security adult male prison within the state of Illinois.

Hill Correctional Center is comprised of 71 acres of land, 38 acres within the security fences. The facility is situated in the southwest corner of Galesburg. The facility consists of a total of 29 buildings. The living units consist of four housing units and one orientation/receiving unit. In addition, there is one segregation unit, a 17-bed infirmary unit and two main recreational yards.
