James K. Donovan received his J.D. degree from St. Louis University School of Law and has been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois since 1978. He served as an Assistant State’s Attorney and Public Defender in St. Clair County, Illinois. He served a total of 24 years as a member of the Illinois Judiciary. He was a trial judge for 14 years in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit and retired as an appellate court justice after serving 10 years on the Fifth District Appellate Court in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Judge Donovan retired in December of 2012.
