What address should I use to send a payment?

You should mail the payment to the address shown on the notice or bill you received from us. Generally, the address is located on the payment voucher of the notice or bill. If you do not have a notice or bill you can mail the payment to

Please attach a letter stating the tax type, tax period (if applicable), and the account number for which you are making a payment. You must also write the account number and the tax period (if applicable) on your payment.

The Illinois Department of Revenue also has the following electronic payment methods available.

  • MyTax Illinois (electronic payment taken from your checking or saving account)
  • Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express)
