AMERICORPS*STATE PROGRAM
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

Project Period 2014-2017

*Notice of Correction: At the bidders confernce, the maximum grant amount per MSY was listed as $13,600. The updated federal NOFA has the maximum listed at $13,300.  $13,300 is the correct amount.*

*Notice of Correction: On page 6 of the original Request for Proposal, the number of pages for a Narrative was reported incorrectly. Note, Applications may not exceed 15 pages for the Narrative including the Executive Summary and Cover page, as the pages print out from eGrants. A revised RFP has been posted, see below.*

*Special Note: All applicants must attend one of the four bidders conferences*

The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and the Serve Illinois Commission (Serve Illinois), in cooperation with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is now accepting applications for the “AmeriCorps*State” grant.

AmeriCorps grants are awarded to eligible organizations for the purpose of supporting AmeriCorps members and addressing community needs. An AmeriCorps member is an individual who is enrolled in an approved national service position and engages in community service. Members may receive a living allowance and other benefits while serving. Upon successful completion of their service members receive an education award from the National Service Trust.

The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) awards AmeriCorps State Formula funds to Governor-appointed state service commissions. The Serve Illinois Commission is responsible for administering these funds and overseeing all of the AmeriCorps grants awarded to the state.

All applicants must apply to IDHS via the Serve Illinois Commission through the eGrants system (see attached application instructions). An applicant must attend one of the four scheduled bidders conferences. An application will not be considered for funding if an applicant did not attend the required bidders conference. It is at the discretion of the applicant to determine the location to attend.

Please RSVP your bidders conference attendance by emailing us or calling us at 800-592-9896.
