All sick leave and vacation days accumulated at retirement may be used to increase your retirement benefit. To approximate the additional service credit for all credited sick and vacation days, refer to your personnel status report provided by your agency. After converting sick leave hours to days, find the total of your sick and vacation days in the chart (below). The result is the additional monthly service credit.

All vacation days and one-half of your sick leave accumulated between January 1, 1984 and December 31, 1997, will require a contribution to establish service credit. Sick leave accumulated before January 1, 1984 and after December 31, 1997, and the other half of your remaining unpaid sick leave from January 1, 1984 thru December 31, 1997 will not require a contribution to establish service credit.
