Chicago Honey Bear Dancers... Song & Dance Show featuring a superstar singer from American Idol and popular hits from the 1950s to today. Plus Kids Dance Workshops infusing dance and the message "Be a BUDDY, not a bully." Singing, dancing, and tons of audience participation... phenomenal entertainment for the entire family!


DockDogs®an organized canine aquatic dock diving show. This fun-filled event for dogs and their handlers includes the disciplines of Big Air; a long jump for Dogs, Speed Retrieve®; an Olympic-like sprint, swim, retrieve, for dogs, and Extreme Vertical®; a high jump for dogs along with other events. This event will be held near the Heartland Coca-Cola Expo Hall and the lake. There will be competition and performances each day. See times for these events in the Schedule of Event Fair Booklet.


Dragon Knights Stilt Theater Show … is a highly interactive performance group inspiring artistic imagination with Stilt Puppetry. They characters enchant their audience with a innovative combination of circus and theater. They captivate and entertain spectators by bringing to life over-sized "Stilt Puppets" creating a strong element of surprise as they interact with the public before and after the show. You will be able to experience the dream world of exotic creatures and become part of the reality that only imagination technical innovation, and teamwork can produce. This high-energy show can be experience while they are roving the fairgrounds.


Helping Hands…is an agricultural education exhibit for kids located just outside the Heartland Coca-Cola Expo Hall. Children (ages 3-10) become farm hands at this free, hands-on exhibit as they are provided the opportunity to experience the agricultural process, beginning at the farm and ending at the market. The children and their families don their work apron and fire up their imaginations to help with farm chores, collect goods to sell at the farmer's market, and then spend their "earnings" on real products made from the farm at the grocery store.


Hoot and Holler … is a 4-piece local Southern Illinois band. They delight their audiences with a wide variety of Classic Country, New Country, Blues, Southern Rock, and even some good ole' 60's Rock N Roll. They will be at the Southern Illinoisan Free Entertainment Tent on Sunday, Sept. 4 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.


Jim Waller … is scheduled to perform on Friday, Sept. 2 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm at the Southern Illinoisan Free Entertainment Tent.  He will be playing pop rock.


Kevin Fox … is a solo acoustic artist playing a variety of soft rock and country music. Come relax and listen to this artist at the Southern Illinoisan Free Entertainment Tent Saturday, Aug. 27 from 1 – 3 pm.


Madeleine Kohlbrecher … a 17-year-old female guitar/vocalist who sings a variety of country western, pop, and classic rock music. Her venues include performing at weddings, wineries, area festivals and performing in Nashville, Tennessee. Come see this very talented young lady perform in the Southern Illinoisan Free Entertainment Tent Saturday, September 3 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.


Puppies of Penzance . . . is a 20–30-minute Pirate Puppy Comedy Show that takes the audience on a fun-filled treasure hunt full of tricks, treats and surprises. This show will be performed three times per day at the Heartland Coca-Cola Expo Hall.  For specific times check out the Schedule of Events Fair Booklet.


Show-Me Safari's Petting Zoo …is family-owned and provides the public with an opportunity to interact with a variety of animals in a safe, educational environment. The interactive area allows you to meet some wonderful farm animals. Feed bags and pony rides are available to purchase. This complete petting zoo is fun for the entire family. Show-Me Safari is located on Expo Drive and will open at 4:00 pm each day.


Show-Me Safari's Pig Races … have proven to be an excellent crowd-pleasing entertainment with a touch of class. Both children and adults love to see these little "hams" race to the finish line. The audience is entertained and enthused through the provided comedy and audience participation. Check out their race times at their location on Expo Drive.


St. Louis Strutters … have performed fast-tapping high-kicking precision dance routines for more than 30 years showcasing their skill and dedication to their talent. The professionally choreographed dance routines are performed to all genres of music with enthusiasm and sparking energy described by many as "magical." Their shows feature singers, story tellers and Emcees that engage audiences with first-rate entertainment. You won't want to miss this high-quality entertainment at the Southern Illinoisan Free Entertainment Tent. Their only appearance will be on Saturday, August 27, 3:30 – 4:30 pm.

Taylor Kearney … is a solo musician playing alternative as well as a wide variety of music from his dad's old country/rock. His influences include Nirvana, Keith Whitley and The Eagles. This entertaining musician will be performing at the Southern Illinoisan Free Entertainment Tent Sunday, August 28 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.


The Can't Get Rights … is an alternative, bluegrass band. They also cover 90's rock and radio hits and play original music in the folk rock genre. This unique band is scheduled to perform in the Southern Illinoisan Free Entertainment Tent on Monday, September 5th from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.
