Public Act 101-0650 - Discontinuation of Health Care Facility
Public Act 101-0650 was enacted effective July 7, 2020.
Under the provisions of this Act, applicants proposing to discontinue a health care facility are now required to notify the following:
- The municipality in which the facility is located;
- The State Representative and the State Senator in the District in which the facility is located;
- The Director of Public Health; and
- The Director of Healthcare and Family Services.
These notifications must be made at least 30 days before the application for permit is filed with HFSRB.
If these notifications are not made at least 30 days prior to filing the application, HFSRB will not deem the application complete. The application for permit has been amended to reflect this change. See Section II of the Application (p. 10) for more detail.
This new notice requirement in the Act does not relieve health care facilities from any other reporting or notification requirements of the Illinois Department of Public Health or other state agencies.
