Announcement Regarding Temporary Suspensions of Services

In accordance with Section 1130.240 – Reporting and Notification Requirements, the Health Facilities and Services Review Board (the Board) will limit temporary suspension of services to unanticipated and unforeseen circumstances. Examples of appropriate suspensions include the loss of appropriate staff or circumstances due to the result of a natural or unnatural disaster. A facility that ceases operation for more than 30 days for reasons that are not unanticipated or unforeseen will not be considered to have temporarily suspended. If the temporary suspension request is not a result of the aforementioned examples, the Board may consider this action a discontinuation without an exemption or permit.
