Existing Users: Sign In to ILogin

If you're an existing user in any of these Illinois programs, do not create a new ILogin account:

  • Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) Unemployment Insurance
  • Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS)
  • Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology (IMPACT)
  • Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Vax Verify Immunization

The email address you used in the programs above are already in ILogin and is your new user name. Please use your existing user name and password to sign in to the ILogin portal. Duplicate email accounts are not allowed.

After signing in, the Set Up Multifactor Authentication menu appears. Go to Set Up Multifactor Authentication and follow the steps.

New Users: Create a New ILogin Account

To access ILogin and create an account, go to https://ilogin.illinois.govOn the ILogin Sign In page, go the bottom and select Sign UpOn the Create Account page:

  • Enter your email address. You cannot use email addresses using @illinois.gov.
  • Enter a password that satisfies the password criteria that appears below.
  • Enter your first and last name.
  • Select Register. ILogin sends a verification email to the email you entered.
  • Open the email from State of Illinois. Select Activate ILogin Account. The Set Up Multifactor Authentication menu appears.

Note: This activation is valid for only 7 days. After day 8, you must start these steps over.

Setup Multifactor Authentication

Multifactor Authentication Menu

ILogin has four authentication methods to choose from. At least one is required, but we highly suggest you choose two or more methods in case one option is not available. After you are successfully enrolled, you see a confirmation.

Set Up Okta Verify

On your iPhone or Android mobile phone:

1. Download and install the Okta Verify app.

2. At the top, select the + icon. Select either Organization or Other, and select Yes, Ready to Scan. A square outline appears in the camera.

In ILogin:

3. On the Set up multifactor authentication menu, select Okta Verify's Setup button.

4. Select your phone type: either iPhone or Android. Select Next. A QR scan code appears.

On your mobile phone:

5. Position the camera's square over the QR code. Okta adds your email account in the Okta Verify app.

In ILogin, the Set up multifactor authentication menu page reappears with Okta Verify listed under Enrolled Factors.

Set Up Google Authenticator

1. On your mobile phone, download the Google Authenticator app. Select the + icon.

2. Select Scan a QR code. A scan rectangle appears.

3. In ILogin, on the Set up multifactor authentication menu, select Google Authenticator's Setup button. Follow the steps until a QR code appears.

4. On your phone, scan the QR code. Select Next.

5. In the Enter Code field, enter the six-digit code from the Google Authenticator app and select Verify. The Set up multifactor authentication menu page reappears with Google Authenticator listed under Enrolled Factors.

Set Up SMS (Text) Authentication

1. In ILogin, on the Set up multifactor authentication menu, select SMS Authentication's Setup button. 

2. Verify or enter your phone number and select Send Code. ILogin sends you a text message and the Enter Code field appears.

3. On your mobile phone, find the text message with the verification code and open it.

4. In ILogin, in the Enter Code field, enter the six-digit code from the text message.

5. Select Verify. The Set up multifactor authentication menu page reappears with SMS Authentication listed under Enrolled Factors.

Set Up Voice Call Authentication

1. In ILogin, on the Set up multifactor authentication menu, select Voice Call Authentication's Setup button.

2. In the Country field, verify or enter the country you're calling from.

3. In the Phone number fields, verify or enter your phone number without hyphens. If an extension is required, enter it.

4. Select Call. The page extends to display an Enter Code field and Verify button. In 5-10 seconds, you receive a phone call.

5. Listen for the five-digit code.

6. In the Enter Code field, enter the code. Select Verify. The Set up multifactor authentication menu page reappears with Voice Call Authentication listed under Enrolled Factors.

Setup Password Recovery

After you’re done setting up MFA methods, the ILogin Welcome page appears. The options may differ from those shown.

1. In the SMS (text) or Voice Call option, select the Add Phone Number button.

2. In the next page:

    o   If you selected SMS, enter your mobile phone number and select Send Code. ILogin sends a text message with a code.

    o   If you selected Voice Call, enter your mobile or landline phone number and select Call. ILogin calls you with a code.

3. In the Enter Code field, enter the code.

4. Select Verify. The Welcome page appears.

5. At the bottom, select Create My Account. The ILogin dashboard appears.

6.     Select an ILogin Account Image (Optional). On the ILogin Welcome page, select an image. This image appears on the ILogin Sign In page when you sign in in the future. By recognizing the image, this assures you that the ILogin page is authentic.

Respond to Multifactor Requests

Respond to Okta Verify

In ILogin, when Okta Verify requests authentication, choose either the Send Push button or the or enter code link.

If you select Send Push:

  1. Your phone displays a notification that says Did You Just Try to Sign In? Tap and hold to open it.
  2. Select Yes, It’s Me. The ILogin dashboard appears.

If you select or enter code:

  1. On your phone, open the Okta Verify app and find your email account.
  2. Tap the eye icon to display the verification code.
  3. In ILogin, enter the code and select Done. The ILogin dashboard appears.

Respond to Google Authenticator

In ILogin, when Google Authenticator requests authentication:

  1. On your phone, open the Google Authenticator app and find your email account.
  2. Tap the eye icon to display the verification code.
  3. In ILogin, enter the code and select Done. The ILogin dashboard appears.

Respond to SMS (Text) Authentication

    In ILogin, when SMS Authentication requests authentication:

    1. Verify or enter your phone number and select Send Code. ILogin sends you a text message. The page expands to display the Enter Code field and a Verify button.
    2. On your mobile phone, find the text message with the verification code.
    3. In ILogin, in the Enter Code field, enter the code from the text message.
    4. Select Verify. The ILogin dashboard appears.

    Respond to Voice Call Authentication

    In ILogin, when Voice Call Authentication requests authentication:

    1. In the Country field, verify or enter the country you’re calling from.
    2. In the Phone number fields, verify or enter your phone number without hyphens. If an extension is required, enter it.
    3. Select Call. The page extends to display an Enter Code field and Verify button. In 5-10 seconds, you receive a phone call.
    4. Listen for the five-digit code.
    5. In the Enter Code field, enter the code. Select Verify. The ILogin dashboard appears.

Reset Your Password

If you forgot your password or need to change it, you can reset it using these options.

  1. On the ILogin Sign In page, enter your email address and select Forgot password?
  2. On the next page, enter your email address again.
  3. Select a recovery option.

Note: SMS (text) and Voice Call options are availble only if a recovery phone number was previously set up in Set Up Password Recovery.

Reset via SMS

  1. If you select this option in ILogin, an Enter Code and Verify field appears.
  2. On the phone number entered during Password Recovery setup, look for a text message with a code.
  3. In ILogin, enter the code then click Verify.

Reset via Voice Call

  1. If you select this option in ILogin, an Enter Code and Verify field appears. ILogin calls the phone number entered during Password Recovery setup.
  2. Answer the call and listen for the code.
  3. Enter the code then click Verify.

Reset via Email

  1. If you select this option in ILogin, a verification page showing Email sent! appears.
  2. Open your email from State of Illinois - ILogin.No-Reply@illinois.gov.
  3. Select the verification link in the email.

Unlock Your Account

If you forgot your password or need to change it, you can reset it using these options.

  1. On the ILogin Sign In page, enter your email address and select Forgot password?<
  2. On the next page, enter your email address again.
  3. Select a recovery option.

Note: SMS (text) and Voice Call options are availble only if a recovery phone number was previously set up in Set Up Password Recovery.

Reset via SMS
  1. If you select this option in ILogin, an Enter Code and Verify field appears.
  2. On the phone number entered during Password Recovery setup, look for a text message with a code.
  3. In ILogin, enter the code then click Verify.
Reset via Voice Call
  1. If you select this option in ILogin, an Enter Code and Verify field appears. ILogin calls the phone number entered during Password Recovery setup.
  2. Answer the call and listen for the code.
  3. In ILogin, enter the code then click Verify.
Reset via Email
  1. If you select this option in ILogin, a verification page showing Email sent! appears.
  2. Open your email from State of Illinois <ILogin.No-Reply@illinois.gov>.
  3. Select the verification link in the email.

Edit Your ILogin Profile

After completing setup, MFA, and password recovery steps, you may need to change the data in your ILogin account. This section shows short steps. For detailed steps, download the Daily Sign In and ID Verification PDF and go to the Edit Your ILogin Profile section.

  1. Sign in to ILogin and display the ILogin dashboard.
  2. In the top right of the page, select your user name or the down arrow next to it. A menu appears.
  3. Select the Settings link. The Account page appears, display several sections of profile data.
  4. In the top right, select the Edit Profile button. ILogin requests your password.
  5. Enter your password and select Verify.
  6. An MFA verification option appears. Complete it as shown in Respond to Multifactor Authentication Requests.
  7. When successful, the Account page opens the sections for editing.

Personal Information, Security Image, and Display Language Sections

  1. In the top right of this section, select Edit.
  2. Edit the fields as needed and select Save.

Change Password Section

  1. Enter the current password.
  2. Enter the new password twice.
  3. Select Change Password. A Password changed successfully message appears.

Forgot Password Text Message Section

  1. Select Add Phone Number.
  2. Follow the steps in Set Up Password Recovery.

Forgot Password Voice Call Section

  1. Select Add Phone Number.
  2. Follow the steps in Set Up Password Recovery.

Extra Verification Section

This section shows MFA options that are set up with a Remove button. Those that aren’t set up display a Set up button.

  • To remove an MFA option, select Remove.
  • To set up an MFA option, select Set Up. Follow the steps in Set Up Multifactor Authentication
