Register and Activate your Account

To access ILogin to Register, please visit https://ilogin.illinois.gov. To create an ILogin account, click on ‘Sign up’ at the bottom of the form.

Fill in the following information to create an ILogin account:

  1. Enter your Email Address (Required). If you do not have an email address, visit the About page for information about where you could create one.
  2. Create a Password (Required). Your password must have at least 8 characters, 1 number, 1 lowercase letter, 1 uppercase letter, and 1 special character.
  3. Enter your First Name and Last Name (Required)
  4. Enter your Middle Name and/or Suffix (optional)
  5. Click the ‘Register’ button. A verification email will be sent to the email you used to sign up. The email should be in your inbox or spam folder.
  6. Activate your new account by clicking on the ‘Activate ILogin Account’ button included in the verification email received. Note: This Verification Email is only active for seven days. If you have not activated your account within seven days, you will need to Contact Us.
  7. You will then be directed to setup multifactor authentication for your account. 

Setup Multifactor Authentication

ILogin has four methods of authentication to choose from but only one method is required. However, it is recommended that you choose more than one method to allow access to your account if an option is not available to you. Once you have been successfully enrolled, you will see a multifactor authentication confirmation.

Authentication Methods

Setup one or more of the following authentication methods.

  • Okta Verify: Approve a push notification from Okta Verify App by selecting a 'Yes' or 'No' acknowledgement button OR enter a 6-digit one-time pass code from the Okta Verify App into the Okta MFA prompt.
    • Click 'Setup' under Okta Verify and select the device type that you wish to setup: iPhone or Android and download the 'Okta Verify' application from the app store.
    • Launch the 'Okta Verify' application on your mobile device and select 'Add an account' and scan the QR code presented on the ILogin screen or click 'Can’t scan?' to enter the code manually.
  • Google Authenticator: Enter a 6 digit one-time pass code from the Google Auth App into the Okta MFA prompt.
    • Click 'Setup' under Google Authenticator and select the device type that you wish to setup: iPhone or Android and download 'Google Authenticator' from the app store.
    • Launch the 'Google Authenticator' application on your mobile device and select 'Add an account' and scan the QR code presented on the ILogin screen or click 'Can’t scan?' to enter the code manually.
  • SMS Authentication: Enter a 6-digit numeric code from the text message into the Okta MFA prompt.
    • Click 'Setup' under SMS Authentication.
    • Enter your area code and phone number and click ‘Send Code’ to generate 6-digit code which will be texted to your phone.
    • Enter the 6-digit code that was texted to your mobile device.
  • Voice Call Authentication: Enter a 6-digit numeric code from an automated voice call into the Okta MFA prompt.
    • Click 'Setup' under Voice Call Authentication.
    • Enter your telephone number and click 'Call'.
    • Answer the automated call and enter the code that the automated called provides into the code box in ILogin.

Setup Password Recovery

Once you’ve setup your multifactor authentication, you will be redirected to complete the Password Recovery process. By defining Password Recovery, you will be able to reset your password without having to contact support.

  1. Select from the dropdown list or choose to create your own customized question.
  2. Add a Phone Number for resetting your password or unlocking your account using the SMS or Voice Call features.
  3. Click 'Create My Account'. Your ILogin Account has successfully been created.

Sign In

To access ILogin to Sign In, please visit https://ilogin.illinois.gov. Enter your username, the email you used to create your account, and click on the 'Next' button. Then enter your password and click 'Sign In'.

Once you sign in for the first time, you will have the option to take a tour of the Okta dashboard by clicking on 'Take a tour'; You will then see the option to select and view apps  from various Illinois state agencies.

Password Reset

If you have forgotten your password or need to reset it, you may do so by receiving a SMS text, a Voice Call or receiving an email. The options you are presented is dependent what you previously configured.

  1. From the ILogin Sign In page, click Forgot password.
  2. Enter your ILogin Email address.
  3. Select the option in which you choose to reset your password, by clicking on the associated button.
  4. Reset via SMS
    1. A code will be texted to your mobile phone previously registered.
    2. Enter the code then click verify.
  5. Reset via Voice Call
    1. You will receive a call on the phone number previously registered which will provide you a code.
    2. Enter the code then click verify.
  6. Reset via Email
    1. You will receive an email from ILogin.No-Reply@illinois.gov.
    2. Click the link in the email.

Unlock Account

If your account is locked, you may unlock it by receiving a SMS text, a Voice Call or receiving an email. The options you are presented is dependent what you previously configured.

  1. From the ILogin Sign In page, click Unlock account.
  2. Enter your ILogin Email address.
  3. Select the option in which you choose to unlock your account, by clicking on the associated button.
  4. Reset via SMS
    1. A code will be texted to your mobile phone previously registered.
    2. Enter the code then click verify.
  5. Reset via Voice Call
    1. You will receive a call on the phone number previously registered which will provide you a code.
    2. Enter the code then click verify.
  6. Reset via Email
    1. You will receive an email from ILogin.No-Reply@illinois.gov.
    2. Click the link in the email.
