Matthew McCabe currently serves as Chief of Staff for the Noble Network of Charter Schools in Chicago where he leads strategic planning and other initiatives. He previously served as director of government and community affairs leading state and local policy, advocacy, and community engagement. Matt started at Noble as a history teacher, grade level lead and ultimate frisbee coach at the Pritzker campus.
In 2010, President Barack Obama nominated Matt to a Senate-confirmed seat on the board of the Corporation for National and Community Service. He’s completed policy fellowships with Teach Plus and Leadership for Educational Equity, served as a Teach for America Corps Member and is an elected Local School Council representative at Brentano Math & Science Academy in the Logan Square neighborhood in Chicago.
Matt graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.A. in Political Science and English and holds an M.A.T. summa cum laude from Dominican University. In 2019 he was selected as a Neubauer Civic Scholar by the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business where he will earn his MBA in the weekend program.
